President and Vice President of European Parliament

The European Parliament on EUropa.S. presidency consists of the European Parliament President and the European Parliament Vice President. They will have to moderate the European Parliament’ General Assembly and they cooperate productively within a mood of mutual respect and trust in order to promote European Parliament’s main goals, while they assure the appropriate applying of the Rules of the Procedure from the EUropa.S.’ members as a whole.

Moreover, the European Parliament’s presidency will have to remain neutral during the Parliamentary procedures and maintain stability and uniformity to the simulated committees, by making their statements during the debating procedures and not only.

The European Parliament President and Vice President, in order to accomplish their responsibilities in the simulation’s framework, are assisted by the rest members of the Secretariat, on a constant liaison and cooperation for the promotion of EUropa.S. organization needs and goals.

The President and Vice President of the European Parliament are members of the Secretariat and assists significantly in the organization of EUropa.S. in close cooperation with the other members of the team, along with the Department of Simulations of I.R.T.E.A., mainly by assuring the application of the respect from the simulated committees of the jurisdiction of the European Institutions’ processes.


President and Vice President of European Council

The European Council body is about to be simulated officially in the framework of EUropa.S. in 2018 for it’s forth time in the Greek academic community. The European Council’s presidency will consist of the President and the Vice president who will function in a mood of mutual understanding and cooperation aiming to implement the procedural rules of European Council body.

Since the Presidency of the European Council’s body periodically rotates, the Council’s board should be neutral in the debating process and have to promote the dialogue and interests of the member states equally and indifferently in order to assist the enhancement of the European Union’s goals and fundamental interests.

The President of the European Council is a member of the Secretariat.


Presidency of the European Court of Justice

The Presidency of the European Court of Justice, at EUropa.S. 2018 will be conducted by the President, the Judge-Rapporteur and the Advocate General.


President and  Judge-Rapporteur

Prior to the conference:

-they are obliged to prepare the case in co-operation with the academic supervisor, to provide answers to legal questions from all possible parties (advocates and judges included), to provide feedback to the judges for their preliminary opinions and in general, to serve all the possible registeriat’ s tasks that a trial might encounters.

During the conference, they have the same responsibilities with the Advocate General. The  Judge-Rapporteur will be responsible to accompany the advocates whilst the President and the Advocate General will participate and moderate closed deliberations. Lastly, the President is responsible for the overall result of the under discussion case and the compliance to the rules of procedure.


The Advocate General

Prior to the conference:

-he/she is responsible to guide the judges in their personal research and to provide them with all the possible legal explanations that might ask for, to assist the advocates with their written memorials, to issue in public his/her preliminary opinion concerning the case and to assist in general the work of the Presidency.

During the Conference:

-he/she is responsible to assist in the moderation of discussion and the Presidency in general, to assist the judges during closed deliberations especially and to examine the witnesses.

The President of the European Court of Justice is a member of the Secretariat.


President of European Commission

The President of European Commission represents the interests and beliefs of the European Commission within the European Parliament’s official procedures. He/she preserves the right to attempt the specialized committees of EUropa.S. and make statements to the MEPs in order to promote debating and negotiation procedures.

The President of the European Commission is a member of the Secretariat.


Committee/Institutions’ Boards

The Committee/Institution Boards consist of the President and the Vice President for each simulated Committee or Institution at EUropa.S. 2018. The principal role of the Presidencies is to moderate the debating procedure of each committee and to assure the appropriate applying of the rules of procedure from the participants.

In addition, they are mainly responsible for the commitment and implementation of the political parties and countries policy on behalf of the MEPs, and the country’s policy as far as the rest of the participants concern, in order to indemnify the appropriate and realistic representation of the European Institutions procedures.

The chairs of EUropa.S. 2018 will also be responsible for preparing their Committee or Institution study guide, and/or any supporting document. Throughout the conference they shall ensure that the members of their designated Institution/Committee remain properly informed, as well as ensuring that the Secretariat stays informed on any issue related with their Institution/Committee or the overall organization of the Conference.

The chairs are finally obliged to respect any deadline given by the Department of Simulations of IRTEA or the Secretariat of EUropa.S. 2018.


Head of Crisis Group

The main goal of the Crisis Group is to pay attention and predict the course of the discussions while trying to set political barriers, under the form of current unexpected crises and emerging issues in each and every Institution processes.

The Crisis Group is responsible for creating plausible crisis situations coherent to the Institutions Topic Areas, helping in that way the participants to familiarize themselves more closely with situations that require concentration, seriousness and determination, basic characteristics of the charismatic politicians and leaders of tomorrow.

The Head of the Crisis Group shall be responsible for delivering and executing the crisis scenario for each Institution. He/She shall coordinate the crisis group members so as to produce high-quality and realistic scenarios, relevant to the scopes of each Committee/Institution, that will stimulate dialogue and promote the work of each Committee/Institution.



The journalists are responsible for keeping the participants updated on the progress made in each Committee and Institution, by issuing the two separated Agencies. Apart from writing articles on the committees activities, they also conduct interviews, take photos and seek to reveal the secret aspects of the conference! They are the ones who work endlessly even at the social events.

The Editor-in-Chief shall be responsible for all operations of the journalists department. He/She shall review all content published in the  Agencies of the Conference, cross-checking the information presented as far as spelling, grammar ad writing style is concerned. He/She shall also overview the training of his/hers team and shall plan their working schedule.


Head of Translation Unit

The main task of the translators is to help participants during the final step of the report writing. They are responsible for making all necessary corrections as far as grammar, syntax and terminology are concerned. What is more, they co-operate with the journalists in setting up the Agencies.

The Head of Translation Unit shall be responsible for ensuring that necessary translation services are provided when and where needed. He/She shall overview the work of translators making sure that they are trained adequately for the task. He/She shall work with the Editor-in-Chief in reviewing and proofreading the content uploaded in the Agencies.


Head of Staff

The staff members are part of the executive team of the conference. Their primary responsibility is to assist the Secretariat and the Boards in carrying out their duties. In addition, they facilitate the communication between the participants during the meetings, by regulating the note-passing.

The Head of Staff shall be responsible for ensuring that the Staff Members are properly trained and organized so as to facilitate the procedures of the conference. He/She shall plan the work of his/her team, in accordance with the instructions given by the Secretariat, assuring the overall benefit of the conference.
