The Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs will award General Michael Costarakos on EUropa.S. 2020

It is a great privilege and honor to announce that the Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs will award General Michael Costarakos, during the opening ceremony of EUropa.S. 2020, for his multi-year contribution to the European structure and his tenure as the President of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC), a position which is the highest – at a supranational level – for a Greek Military officer.

He has been awarded with several distinctions, including the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix, the Grand Commander of the Order of Honour, the Armenian Medal for Military Co-operation, and the NATO Medal for the Balkans. General Kostarakos is married and has two daughters. He also speaks English and French, has completed a graduate degree in the Law School of the University of Athens, and holds a post-graduate degree in Diplomatic and Strategic Studies and his presence on EUropa.S. 2020 honors us and adds value and prestige to the conference!
