The team of the Institute of Research & Training on European Affairs (I.R.T.E.A.) announces the offer of 28 scholarships for participants at EUropa.S 2022!


These scholarships will be granted by I.R.T.E.A. via the funding of Erasmus+ Programme on Youth of the European Union. The 28 scholarships offered cover the travel expenses (air tickets, bus tickets or train tickets) and the accommodation (double or triple standard room for same-gender participants, including breakfast) for the selected applicants for the 4 days of the main event.


For this year’s conference, there are 28 scholarships that will be granted to 28 randomly selected students, who are facing barriers attending the conference, specifically economic barriers, geographical barriers or barriers linked to discrimination, as they are explained at the Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2021.

Special note that, the 28 scholarships will be distributed as following:
• 10 to students coming from Thessaloniki,
• 9 to students coming from Komotini and
• 9 to students coming from Rethymno.

The purpose of providing these scholarships is to assist students facing specific barriers to attend the conference. These barriers, as referred to the Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2021, are: economic barriers, geographical barriers and barriers linked to discrimination. Should a student belong to any of the aforementioned categories, they are eligible to apply for the scholarship,

We also remind you that this year’s EUropa.S. will be held in Athens, 15-18/04/2022 and is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme on Youth of the European Union.

Q & A about the Scholarships


Q: Who is providing these scholarships?
A: I.R.T.E.A., via the funding of Erasmus+ Programme on Youth of the European Union is offering 28 positions, for applicants to the international conference EUropa.S 2022.

Q: What does the scholarship cover?
A: The 28 scholarships offered cover the travel expenses (air tickets, bus tickets or train tickets) and the accommodation (double or triple standard room for same-gender applicants) for the selected applicants

Q: What is the profile of the candidate/eligible applicant?
A: First of all, all candidates should be aged between 18-25, either undergraduate or postgraduate students and highly motivated concerning the European spectrum. The scholarships are especially offered to help young people that are facing certain barriers to address them. More specifically, the eligible applicants are those who face economic, geographical and discrimination barriers. Please refer to the Erasmus + Programme Guide 2021 for more information regarding this issue. Special note that, regarding the geographical criteria, the 28 scholarships will be distributed as following: 10 to students coming from Thessaloniki, 9 to students coming from Komotini and 9 to students coming from Rethymno.

Q: How can I apply?
A: Applicants, who have already submitted their application for participating in the EUropa.S. 2022 and have already deposited the participation fee, are eligible to apply for the scholarship offered. Q: What is the selection procedure?
A: The successful candidates who will be offered the scholarship will be selected through random selection

Q: Are there any supportive documents?
A: In the face of application, no supportive documents are needed. In case of selection, the Organizing Team of EUropa.S will inform you for any supportive documents needed.

Q: Are there any key dates to remember?
A: The deadline for the application of the scholarships is the 28th of February 2022, the exact same as the final date of the participants’ application.
