Sub-committee on Human Rights

The Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) is the Parliament’s primary means to defending human rights around the world and within the EU itself. The committee discusses all sorts of human rights issues, such as discrimination against women, the death penalty, LBGT rights, torture or the fight against racism, as well as violations of human rights within and around the EU.

Giving voice to the most affected, the weak, the afflicted,  the helpless is one of the committee’s most basic functions. Through its reports and resolutions issues of grave importance in respect to the well-being of humanity are addressed with swiftness and determination.
