Applications for Chaipersons & Heads – EUropa.S. 2024

EUropa.S 2024 is on and running! Are you ready for another EU experience? Our team is getting ready for another successful Conference, and we need your help and enthusiasm! The EUropa Simulation Conference – EUropa.S. 2024 will take place on the 26th to 29th of April 2024, in Athens!

We are proud to announce that the Applications for the Chairpersons of Committees and Institutions & Heads of Teams for EUropa.S. 2024 are now officially open.

This year EUropa.S. will simulate the following Institutions:

• European Council,
• European Commission,
• European Court of Justice,
• European Central Bank (new addition!),
• European Parliament, with the following Committees:
  -European Parliament – SEDE Committee (Security and Defence),
  -European Parliament – ENVI Committee (Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety),
  -European Parliament – REGI Committee (Regional Development),
  -European Parliament – SANT Committee (Public Health) – in French.

Additionally, we will have two “new” groups: The Press Corps and the “Shadow Participants”, coming to replace the Crisis and Journalists Team as well as the former Staff Team. Please note that the deadline for the submission of the application is the 22nd of October 2023. The selection will be based upon the application itself along with a personal interview conducted by the project manager of the conference, together with the Secretariat team of this year’s EUropa.S.

The Interviews will take place from the 24th to the 27th of October 2023.

Please note that this year the Heads and Boards will participate in the EUropa.S. 2024 Conference free of charge!

Once selected and welcomed to the Conference, Chairpersons will be responsible among others to:

• cooperate with their co-chair, throughout the process of the preparation and simulation,
• submit their proposals for the topics of the agenda,
• prepare the Study Guides for their respective Committee/Institution under the guidance of the Secretariat Team and Organizing Committee,
• attend Training and Meetings regarding their preparation for the Simulation,
• keep flowing communication with their participants, once they are allocated,
• participate in the Mock Sessions for the participants of their respective Committee
  Chairpersons, as well as the Heads of the Press Corps and the “Shadow Participants” will also be responsible for the successful coordination of their respective teams and follow the structured deadlines given by the Organizing Committee.

Requirements to apply:
• Team spirit and the ability to collaborate with individuals from a variety of academic backgrounds,
• Experience in International and/or Regional Simulations in a similar position (previous EUropa.S. experience will be considered as an asset),
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of EU Institutions,
• Written and oral knowledge of English,
• Leadership and organizational skills, time management.
